The four seasons leave their mark on Northeast Iceland as they do elsewhere and all nature’s creatures and plants have to adapt to whatever they bring. Nature, therefore, presents herself in various guises depending on the time and place.
Summertime has always been the peak of the tourist season in Iceland. This is the time when the odds for nice weather are most favorable, most of the highland routes have opened by the end of june and most people take theri vacation at this time. Northeast Iceland is therefore bustling with people and activity during the summermonths.
We would, however, also like to point out that other seasons have much to recommend them.
